Little Green Change is an award-winning, non-profit social enterprise specialising in environmental education and opportunities for primary and secondary-aged children, both directly in schools and in communities across the UK. Their aim is to inspire, educate and facilitate action, benefitting both the planet and people. They do this through their Schools Programme, expert speaker talks, environmental events, competitions, projects, annual magazine and initiatives.

Objectives: The project will support environmental education and direct action, focusing on increasing biodiversity and engaging children, through providing free assemblies and on-site biodiversity connected activities (e.g. planting and habitat creation) to Devon schools.

Methodology: The project delivers age-appropriate assemblies covering topics such as plants for pollinators, British wildlife, and careers in biodiversity. In 2024, Little Green Change worked with schools in 17 schools in Devon, and in 2025 they expect to work with a minimum of 25 schools across Devon.

2024 IMPACT:

In 2024, through their Biodiversity in Schools Project, Little Green Change worked with 1,442 children across 26 state-funded, primary and secondary schools to provide biodiversity education and action opportunities. In Devon, these included Axe Valley Academy in Axminster, All Saints Primary School in Axminster, Beer CE Primary School in Seaton, Ide Primary School in Exeter, Meavy Primary School in Yelverton, and St Peter’s CE Junior School in Tavistock. The schools register to receive a free biodiversity themed assembly, followed by child-led biodiversity improvements on their school site organised by Little Green Change.
